Whispersynch is fucking gabage. I thought it just worked out the box wo i went nuts leading me to.get over 100 books refunded. Now there are yet dozens of classics not aupported. Have to symch them if lucky through Audibles website. Garbage!

Honestly, your 'struggles' are more of an advantage (on most). I want a reader that is NOT having to be connected to the internet and an account to be able to use. So Kindle is out for me immediately. It's takes 2 minutes to add a book to a reader the manual way. The 'distractions' you can just ignore if they are not for you, if you can't ignore that's not a problem with the reader but you. The settings are helpful and sometimes also is for example a game of sodoku when you need to kill time but not in the mental space to read. Highlighting is the only thing than can actually be a drawback for someone who likes to do that and take notes. But thanks for this video, I have an older pocketboook that sort of needs replacing now, I was considering this but now I'm sure I want to buy this one. One question if you are still reading these: When removing the pocketbook logo there seems to be a random logo option. What logos does that mean?

Good for you! I think your advice is good for approaching any new activity; game-ifying and using technology and anything else that makes it easier to learn. Years ago, my BIL gave my sister a Fitbit and she wasn't really into it. She put it on her 3 YO and had 10,000 steps by 11am!

I would add that if you were looking for other options to add to this journey, strength training/weight lifting will significantly increase your progress even more than running. Simple strength training workouts 2 to 3 times a week will have a major impact on your metabolism/weight loss.

(4GB ram and a Snap Dragon CPU) you could surf the web, you can also surf all your social networks like Facebook so you can read on the web for a while. The battery works perfectly, it supports a variety of formats from PDF and dejvu to mp3. It has a pen. I hope this could help you to find an e-ink tablet

I set the button for the kindle app in "turn page" in setting but it doesn't seem to work properly ... When i press those button in the kindle app it turn volume up or down ...

The color display has shadows, the back makes noises, and the buttons are loud. The software is also very unresponsive. Customer service was unhelpful and only offered a replacement, not a return or refund. With these quality issues, a replacement isn’t acceptable. I will never consider purchasing from them again. Avoid this product and company.

I'll pay extra for page turning buttons. It annoys me to have to swing my opposite hand all the way to the device and tap the screen to turn a page. If nothing else, I like keeping Cheeto dust off my reading screen. I love being able to *TRULY* read with one hand, having a thumb already resting on the buttons as I hold the Oasis with one hand. I am most fond of the asymmetrical shape of the Oasis, a design meant to make holding the Oasis more comfortable. I acknowledge the screen, the backlight, the speed are too similar to worry about. But the page turn buttons are a deal breaker for me. As much as I read, I'll pay to not be annoyed by reading without the buttons, to need to use two hands. I'll pay to not be constantly reminded that I don't have those buttons. Oasis wins. 😋

I have a decent amount of books and i was thinking of going digital for the simplicity and connivence. And what you explained here was my. top priority; once i bought the e book, i should be able to keep it, copy it to pc/HDD for backup and eventually copying it back when my current e reader no longer works because i like having that peace of mind and also personal satisfaction that im in full control. Most people dont seem to care about this, as they just use the amazon website to re download it to another device...? This issue right here is a big turn off for me and may never use e books because of this, as i already have all the books i need physically. Such a shame

I just picked up a one-year-old used Pocketbook Era off eBay and I am loving it! I have a Kindle Oasis, but the Kindle has too large margins and therefore much of the screen size is simply wasted. Not the case with the Era, where minimum margin is quite small. Pocketbook has their cloud for side-loaded book sync, and email to Pocketbook works very well! So does Dropbox. I love having TTS available without needing to use headphones or additional speaker. I can just set it above my pillow and enjoy either a public domain audiobook or a book read to me via TTS at night when my eyes are tired. No fuss, no need for Bluetooth hookup, just listen. There's a choice of voices to download. The browser has been useable, I've successfully downloaded several ebooks with the browser, also a few audiobooks from Librivox, which I actually discovered via the PB browser, after a search for free audiobooks. I've sent books from my phone via email, it's all very nice! I'm listening to a chapter of "Treasure Island," an old favorite every night before I go to sleep. I've not had any issues getting books on my device. I don't do lots of highlighting or annotating, but it's nice to export them to HTML. Open format, no special app required to get at the content. Any browser or text editor can open HTML There's some niggles, as you can't add weight to fonts like Kobo and Kindle can do, so you may have to find a font that's just right and side-load it. Also, there is no alignment toggle. But I've heard it may come in a future update. That can be dealt with it necessary, by adjusting the book text alignment before loading it on the device using Sigil or Calibre. Considering how much I've used it lately, battery life is doing very nicely too! Better than either my Kindle Oasis or Kobo Sage. Kobo Sage screen and general convenience reign supreme with me still, but my Pocketbook is now considered a permanent member of my mixed ereader "family" as it were.
